My Outlandish Life

Over the last few years I’ve heard my daughter say things like “you can’t choose who you love” about a million times.  She of course is a teenager and thinks this statement is logical.  Truth is, you absolutely choose who you love.  Love is not some kind of sappy emotion, that’s merely hormones.  Love is a fighting, working, daily choice.  If it were otherwise, it could be easily said that I have fallen in and out of love over a hundred times in the last 16 years.  But love is not based on emotion, love is unconditional, love chooses.  Physical action should outflow from the choice of love, it should be seen and felt.  There is no such thing as “you know I love you”, no one knows if it’s not said and showed on a regular basis.  So, here’s to love!
